Bid Goodbye to 2011

Oopsyyy! I just realized that I actually forgotten one important thing in my last post. To wish everyone a very Happy New Year! Its just the beginning of Feb so not considered too late right? Hehe =p

For those who read my previous post would know where I spent my New Year this year. Yup yup yup, in London it is! Twas such an awesome and memorable one. Last year I missed the London eye fireworks cause I was in Birmingham celebrating with my bunch of college friends. When I came home after that, I watched it from youtube and gosh, it just reminds me of how pathetic was the one I saw in Birmingham >.<

31st December 2011

Took the super early train down to
London Kings Cross. Walked over to
St.Pancras once we arrived to take
a picture with this! Apparently, it the world's
largest Lego Christmas tree. It took two months
to build and contains 600,000 bricks.

Checked in to our hostel and all 6 hungry ghost
headed straight for some Jap food in Chinatown.
Sushi crave not satisfied yet but Japanese curry
crave is!

Then off to Selfridges. Always wanted to try
the Pierre Herme macarons there. We finally
did! The macarons were so gooddddd and I love
them. Even better than the ones from Pierre
Ledent which I got from Brussels. Those were
already super good, so imagine this?! Maybe
I'm exaggerating abit too much LOL But trust me,
it's seriously worth the money =)

After some shopping along Oxford street, we are here again!
Last dinner for 2011. Nothing can be more satisfying
than having a warm bowl of Kimchi soup down the
stomach during winter ^.^

It was just a year ago that we had our boxing day dinner
here, and see how time flies! We're here again a year later
but for new year's eve =)

After much squeezing and pushing, we finally made it to
the center of the crowd in Embankment and stood there for
almost 3 hours under the rain. Look at the crowd
and you'll know how much time we spent just to get a
close-to-perfect spot for the fireworks. There's this annoying
lamp post blocking part of the view, nevertheless we had no
choice but to stay right there cause there was simply
too much people and we cant afford to lose the spot that
we got earlier.

Look how amazing were the fireworks! It
definitely did not let us down. Maybe the
pictures don't tell much, but imagine watching
it in front of your eyes? For fireworks lover like
me, it really is the best firework that I've ever
watched for the past 21 years.

1st January 2012

Started our first day of 2012 like typical tourists! Visited
the Big Ben, London Eye and Buckingham palace again LOL
Simply cause my beloved friends are always too busy
spending money in Oxford Street and never had time
for these attraction spots each time they visit London.
Haha. Since everywhere is close on New Year, so why not?

After watching the parade along Green Park, we made our
way to the Lyceum Theatre for the musical that we have
been anticipating for since October. Lion King it is! But guess
what, I slept for almost 50% of the show. Someone please stab
me! Such a good musical and we fell asleep?! Blame the fireworks
last night. Felt as if I just burned 40 pounds in the fire *sigh*

After watching 'sleeping beauty' instead of Lion King,
Covent Garden was our next stop. For more macarons!
Haha. But this time from Laduree instead. Not bad but
still prefer Pierre Herme =p

Next, is dinner time! If you want good steaks,
this is the place you definitely should be visiting.
Gaucho <3 The complimentary cheese dough was
the bomb starter. See the cheese oozing out from
it??? Don't you just wish you have one in your mouth
now??? =p

with sweet potatoes.

Hopefully this is not our last New Year celebration together.
But I guess it most probably will be =(

For some, New Year is no more than a change of a calendar. For others, this event symbolizes the beginning of a better tomorrow. No matter what it means to all of you out there, I hope you guys had a really great time like me and Happy New Year once again =)

So sorry for the late updates. Been really really busy every since I came back from London. After the exam, I headed straight off to Tromso for the Northern Lights. Then came home, thought of blogging but the internet went haywire. Drag and drag and draggggg till now =x

January is always the stressful month for all of us. It's a month that all of us have been waiting dreadfully for it to end. Or probably just me. Cause I'm simply can't cope with the stress. The pressure and stress from this exam almost killed me. Broke down uncountable times. Thinking that this will be my final year and I can't screw it up. I can't even let myself go for a resit if I were to graduate this summer with all my friends.

Waking up at 8am every morning, nerd in the library from 9 till 5, go home shower and grab some quick dinner, head back to the library again at 7pm and nerd till 5am then sleep till 8am and the cycle begins again. Surviving with biscuits, bread and apples every single day for all 3 meals. I seriously can't believe I did that cause I simply hate and wouldn't touch those food unless I'm starving to death. That's practically what my life was for almost the entire January.

Simple encouragement from friends can work wonders. I totally believe in it now. Be it on a post-it note, sms or whatsapp. The messages were just like boosters. I'm really grateful for having friends like them.

So glad that the nightmare is all over. My new semester will be starting tomorrow. Hopefully the project that I got will be fun and interesting! Another short post again sorry. Gonna replenish some sleep before the serious work begins again =(

Stay tuned for the next update on my trip to Tromso! Really a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I'm really glad I made the right choice =D

Jolly Jolly Christmas!

It was just like yesterday that I was actually celebrating my very first real christmas in London. In fact, a year has passed and this year, we decided to stay in Notts and have a different kind of celebration.

No roast turkey with stuffing, no pig in the blankets, no 5kg of mashed potatoes, no baked parsnips and no caesar salad this year.

But what remains the same is the company and that's what I treasure most =)

Unlimited salad and desserts. The salad are so good and I
can sit there whole day just for the salad. *for vege-lovers like me*
Trust me, forget about the calories and fat. Cause the blue
cheese dressing is the one to die for!

25/12/2011 Christmas Day

Everywhere was closed and we decided to just chill at home with some home-cooked food.

Big breakfast with poached eggs on
toast, baked beans, grilled tomatoes
and sauteed mushrooms.

this. Christmas is suppose to be happy, isn't it? =D

For the ultimate Christmas dinner, we had a 2-course meal!

Our main course! Loh Pan Mee made from
scratch, topped with minced turkey meat,
mushrooms and fried shallots *nyums*

Desserts; Pistachio gelato and Cherry Glacia frozen yogurt!

Have been slacking a lot since I came back from the trips and exam is like just around the corner. Really really around the corner liao!!! Hence, a short post. So much to read up and yet, I can still slack *yaiks* And go London for New Year! *yaiks max max max*

Okay, I better stop here and start facing the books again!

The Perfect Winter Getaway

Wee!!! Just got back from the most amazing getaway with the Randalamos 'originals'.

You must be wondering where's that amazing place right?

Let the pictures below reveal it =)

#1 Prague

Some of the traditional food that we had in the Xmas market;
my favourite would be the bottom two on the left. All-time love,
the churros and the new-found love, trdelnik which is like a
must have for me every single day =p
*Definitely one of the best xmas market I've been to*

#2 Budapest

Traditional Hungarian food! Which was too meaty for my
liking. And salty too. My favourite; the poppy seed strudels
and rum flavoured raisins crepe.

Both cities were magnificent especially during the night when the entire city is illuminated!

Super cheap food, cozy accommodation and most importantly, best companies ever =D

The only regret we had was the weather. It was hot compared to Notts and sad to say, it didn't snow at all =( *sigh*

Basically, one word to describe the entire trip.

SPLENDID!

What A "Surprise"

Touchstone is done! Finally some time to update my blog. Another post to end November =)

As I have mentioned in my previous blog post, the 21st birthday of mine was really a memorable one. Not just the celebration part but also the 'treasure hunt' specially planned by my lovely housemates. The present was really a 'SURPRISE' for me.

On the 31st, they sneaked into my room,
pasted all the sweet wishes on the walls
when I was taking my shower in the
bathroom =)

After the dinner, they made me start the hunt and pasted
sticky notes all over the corridor to my room to facilitate
my treasure hunt. They told me it's in the kitchen, i went searching
everywhere in the kitchen. Then suddenly they said, it might
be in the store and again I went searching every corners in
the store room. But still, I couldn't find it anywhere! Not
anywhere in the house. Being me, of course give up la. Sleep
and try again tomorrow =p

A week passed and the present was still no where to be found. Until.......................... something surprising happened. There was this one night. When I should be studying for my Touchstone exam but unfortunately, no. I was basically on facebook and out pop this inbox message from our blur egg. It was a thread message and I thought it was something important. Happily opened it and guess what I found. A message from her to the others regarding my present. Apparently the present just arrived that night itself!!!! Now you all know what's with the treasure hunt >.<

Too bad, plan was doomed =p

Sorry again for the short post. Simply dead tired and am still recovering from the sore throat and fever. Gosh! I rather have diarrhoea and vomit than to have these =s

When Twenty Meets One

I turned 21 on the very last day of October! Yes it is, a Halloween Baby =)

Sometimes I do wonder, why are people so afraid being in the 20s?

In fact, I felt good being 21! Officially an adult =D

It's time to let the pictures do all the talking.

The very first person I should and want to thank is definitely
my Daddy and Mummy. The key to freedom from them.
Being lucky, I've got all the freedom I wanted long time ago.
But it still meant a lot to me. Hehe.
*Daddy can still be quite protective at times, which i totally under why =p*

At first, I thought they wouldn't be any key from them
although I did tell them that I would rather want a bag than
the key *call me a bagaholic* =p But they still got it. And it's a
really pretty one. A heart and a key. Love love love the design.
Btw, guess where they hid it? If you're my friend on FB, you
would have known. Yup, that bag of anchovies in my fridge.
Zzz. They are just so cute! Now talk about creativity. Luckily
it was wrapped with layers, if not I'll smell like anchovies
everytime I have that necklace on.

It's always the cake surprise when the clock strikes 12. This year was not a very 'surprise' surprise for me. Haha. Simply cause the cake was baked in my very own house. How to not see the cake beforehand =p

But but but...... I still appreciate every effort you guys put
to make this cake for me. Especially the housemates who
went through so much just to make me a lovely carrot
walnut cake. My fav cake <3

The wish wish time! Somehow, the list
was extra long this year. It's only once a
year that you get to wish. So why not have
a long long list? Hehe

Who's as 'lucky' as me this year? Classes from 9 to 5 on my birthday. Looking on the good side, I had 200 classmates and lecturers celebrating with me *faint* What a day!

But all was good when the night comes. A decent dinner with the close friends after a long day class. It's not about the grand party and posh dinner that makes me happy. Just the right people at the right time makes everything right =)

See how time flies. The last time I signed in was almost a month ago. I still remember dragging myself out of bed on the first day of class and now what? Week 5 just ended!!! Fourth year is totally not like any other previous years. Masters level now and everything seems a thousand times harder *sobs*

Who says all the fun should stop although it's gonna be a tough year? It's my last year of uni life, my last year as an undergraduate student and my last year to enjoy life before stepping into the working world. I definitely do not want to miss anything out and regret later =D

October started off with birthdays again! In Cafe Rouge. My current favourite place for french food =) Guess who's the birthday baby? Scroll down further and you'll know.

Wanna know why this place is my current favourite? Simple!
5 out of 7 ordered duck confit while the other two had lamb and
chicken. Guess that proves how good was the duck confit. The

given =p

Despite the crowd, we still managed to capture a piece of

Too many funny and embarrassing moments that night. But who cares? It's a night to sweat and have fun. A great night indeed. After the alcohol and dance, the heat was enough to keep us warm at a temperature less than 10 celcius. Walking out at that temperature without any coat and tights on. Impressive isn't it? At least for a person who is so afraid of cold, like yours truly.

I simply love our timetable this semester. Most of the fridays are off days. Jealous much? Hehe. So why waste it? Weekend getaways are the best time killer =)

Bath, Somerset was the destination

After checking into the hostel, we came over
to this must-visit-place-in-Bath. The Roman
Baths.

interesting than this glass of healing water.
Which smells like rotten fish and tasted like
blood *yucks*

The day ended with a decent 3 course dinner
in this restaurant named The Hole in the Wall.
Cute isn't it?

Rise and Shine! After breakfast, we headed off to the Royal
Crescent which is actually a residential road of 30 houses
laid out in a crescent.

Bath Abbey was the next stop. A place where earth and
heaven meet. We took a tour up to the tower which
overlook the entire city of Bath.

A must-try in Bath. The Bath Bun! If you're
wondering what's so special about it, I can tell
you this. It's nothing to wow about. It's basically
just a rich, sweet yeast dough shaped round that
has a lump of sugar baked in the bottom and more
crush sugar sprinkled on top after baking =.=

Another must-try in Bath. The ever famous Sally
Lunn's Bun. Which I thought was overrated as well.
The savoury bun with smoked salmon was rather
tasty but the cinnamon butter with clotted cream
bun was a tad too sweet for my liking. Perhaps those
with really sweet tooth will love it =)

Another world heritage site after Bryggen. Stonehenge.
I'm still wondering what's so nice about this few pieces
of randomly stacked rocks >.<

Another birthday. But this time, a super super belated one. So so sorry for the late birthday celebration, our August baby. But better late than never, right? =0

Yours truly is back on track!!! As healthy as a wealthy.

Hmm, probably a tick for healthy*left with gastric attack now*. But wealthy? Definitely a NO!

Today's weather was perfect. Warm and sunny. I'll never ask for a better weather than this. This is the first time I've ever jog without a jacket and I SWEAT *wow*. Whether you believe or not. It's hard to sweat here. Really really hard and I always feel uneasy for not sweating for such a long time.

And you know what? I almost embarrassed myself after the jog. I almost knocked on the wrong house door. Forgetting that I've shifted over to House 31 and no more House 72. Luckily the idea of it not being my house hit me just right before I barged into their compound. Partly because I know my house door is brown and not white anymore >.< How stupid is that?

Now I've received the wake up call. Calling me. To face the reality and adapt to the changes around me. Although I don't quite like it now. But with time, I'll get used to it. Probably fall in love with it too.

*To my beloved housemates, don't get me wrong. I'm totally not talking about the house*

Did I ever mentioned it before anywhere in my blog? That I've never been sick since I came here. Despite I'm actually living with housemates that get sick very often. It did surprised me. Cause I'm always the weak one at home. Boxes and boxes of tissues seems to vanish very quickly when I'm home *according to my parents*.

It's a different story now. I'm back being a sick cat. Here's the thing. I believe if one does not fall sick for such a long time, everything comes at once. Basically everything. You name it, I have it. Fever, sore throat, cough and headache. What makes it worse? The ulcers on the gum. And the pimple on the nose nonetheless. First ever painful pimple in my life!!! ZOMG

Blame the pork knuckles and sausages in Munich. And not drinking enough beer (鬼佬凉茶) to get rid of the heatyness*that's what others been telling me*. Do you think it's true?

I've been lying on the bed for 2 days. Drama and sleep. When the weather outside is so good. 27 celcius!!! Can you believe it? It's amazing to find this kinda weather in September. But bad news is; I'm trapped at home. Grrrrr =(

Hopefully I'll be good as new when I wake up tomorrow. Kill a tiger if possible =p I need some fresh air outside and good food!

I almost forgotten that I have this blog. Almost almost. So what am I up to since I came back to KL?

Lunch and dinner with the friends. Dates with the boy which includes Malacca. As he's having an exam and being a considerate gf, I decided to just drop by and watch him study. Basically, he's doing all the hard work in the library while I have my laptop loaded with dramas to kill time. Beside him.

Where's all the pictures? That must be what you're all wondering now. Apparently something happened and I'm not in a mood for pictures. But now, everything's good.

So pictures will start next week! Hope it's not too late =)

On Two Wheels

Just finished steamboat with my lovely new housemates. The girls will be the best housemates ever =) It's been a long time since I had such heavy dinner. So, decided to blog a little since I've abandon my blog for quite sometime.

It was impulsive. To come up with the plan and make it work. Thanks to Joo Lian for this wonderful cycling trip in Peak District.

We cycled along the Tissington Trail and dropped by this
small little town which i find very peaceful.

We were constantly hungry throughout the journey. We
stopped like almost four times for lunch if i'm not mistaken.
4 slices of bread with peanut butter, strawberry jam, ham&
cheese and nutella. So much of carbo!!!! My carbo quota for
the entire week >.<

The sky was kind but not so kind to us. Haha. Didn't rain but
too sunny.

After 3.5 hours, we finally reached Dow Low which
is the end of the high peak trail. I can't believe I did it.
Perseverance is a must!

But definitely worth the pain ^^

I was wear out by the end of the day. Never knew cycling can be so tiring. I guess it was the day that i sweat most. But it was amazing. Definitely a must try when you get to peak district.

Now, i looked like a tan pig again ='( People always say, there are no ugly women but only lazy women. I'm not sure if i'm the former but i'm deffo the latter. One thing that i definitely know. If i continue running out to the sun without sun block, i'll be the former in no time. Gosh!!!

A Dream Come True

It has always been my dream since young, to catch a glimpse of the purple lavender. Hence now you know why I always buy lavender products. Body wash, hand cream, lotion and the list goes on and on =D *but recently, not so*

To my surprise, there's this person who's more in love with lavender than I am.

Dream came true after years of waiting. For the both of us =D

Once we placed our feet into the meadow, we could
smell the air, fragrant with aromatic lavender scent.
Somehow, i feel sleepy after a while. Haha. Wondering
if it's the effect of the scent =p

Just a few days before the celebration, the 2 guys and I cycled all the way to city, castle marina and beeston loving for fresh seafood. We were there too late i guess and there's no more soft shell crab left. So we opt for two squids instead. Two HUGE ones. But we still manage to gobble everything up.

Definitely put a smile on my face =) And come to think of it now,

home twice just to check on the house =.=

Most of the nights, I would be at their place rather than my own house. Haha. They have too much of activities. Simply kept all of us entertained.

Last weekend, was pizza-making session. Refused to go at first cause i was on diet, but gave in at last. Promised myself with only one piece, but ended up.........Haiz, I'm sure you guys know what happened. Now they cant stop laughing at me when I say no to food >.<

Two days ago was sushi-making session. As usual, Hanny and I kept reminding each other before we went over, that we were just there to watch and make, not to eat. At most, one slice each. Ended up....... *speechless*

Yippee ya ya yippee yippee ya!!!!! Been longing this day to come since the first day I put my foot onto this land of Fish & Chips. A whole month-long 'rain' is finally gone and I can finally see rainbow through my sparkling clear window. No more sleepless nights with pharmacology and pharmaceutics. Hyper!!!

Words can describe my feelings right now. Four months of summer break!!!! It's already my third summer break since uni life started but somehow, this summer just feels different. Hmmm why so??? Prolly cause it's my first 'real' summer that I'm gonna spend in UK. Haha.

Anyway, am so excited now for alton towers with the girls and guys tomorrow. All the spinning, 360 degrees, thrilling roller coaster rides. Muacks, I miss you guys so much!!!!

Life has been all about studies and overwhelming stress for the past 3 weeks. Wake up with notes, eat with notes, drama with notes and sleep with notes. Sick enough. At times, I feel like strangling myself for working last minute. But when i think of it, what's the point? I will forget even if i started early. Memory skills seems to be deteriorating. Sign of aging???

Maybe I shouldn't aim too high. Perhaps a second upper is good enough.

Just so you know, I've been awake since 11am yesterday morning >< Ya, let me do the calculation. That's like 36 hours excluding the 2 hours of 'accident' nap this morning. Just hope that I wouldn't collapse in the exam hall tomorrow X.X

Sigh.

Anyways, 9 hours to my first paper. So gotta go catch some sleep now. Really don't wanna have a 20 yr old soul living in a 60 yr old body. Wish me luck *fingers crossed*

p/s: Day by day, the sun sets later and later. For the time being, it sets completely only after 8.30pm. Totally loving it cause that means i would have a longer bright day and still get to see the sun by the time i leave the library =) The not very good side, dinner time going haywire. I used to eat at about 6 or 7. And now? Close to 9pm. Note to myself, never estimate the time by judging from the clear blue sky >.<

Back to Xmas in December

We're back in December once again. For Christmas!!! Woops, that's like 3 months ago right??? But I'm just too busy with my coursework that i literally forgot that i have a blog here =( 4 coursework to be due this month and all the dates are like so close to each other. Bad news is, I'm only done with ONE. Kill me pls ='( Anyway, as I promised, I will blog about my Xmas last year as it was a very special one.

East midlands train to London King's Cross

Trafalgar Square. The only tourist spot that
we visited. Xmas is like a BIG thingy for them.
So, its either the places were closed or we don't have
enough time for them.

Tea break in Cha Cha Moon. Or more like a dinner. Haha.
Love the food here.

Now, this is dinner. Look at the amount of food =s Sometimes
i do question myself. Am i here to eat or to study???

Winter wonderland in Hyde Park. Arghhh, too bad we were
there too late that we didn't have time to get on the rides =(

St.Paul's Cathedral. The place we spent
our christmas eve night. For the caroling
and worship. The feeling was so different.
I don know how to explain but it's just amazing.
Experience it yourself then you'll know =)
But one thing, out of so many songs they sang, i only
knew one. The only english song =.=

Did i mention to you that we had a free christmas lunch on
Xmas day itself??? The food was simply amazing even it was
FOC. And we had rounds and rounds till we can feel our
balloon stomach. Not that we were greedy that we kept going
for more rounds. But it's the people that keeps bringing us food.
After the main course, we had xmas pudding, sponge change with
custard, mince pie, cheese and biscuits. Now u know how nice are
the people in UK. For those that I've met so far ^^

The turkey molester. The chocolate melter. The dough
mixers.

Jeng jeng jeng!!!! Our very own homemade SUPERLICIOUS
christmas supper @11pm. With giant turkey, pig in the blanket,
baked parsnips, mashed potatoes with cheese and caesar salad.
It went from dinner to supper cause of the giant turkey that took
us 5 hours to roast it. We were practically starving during the
food-making session. Caesar salad was already 3/4 gone by the time
everything else was ready =p

While waiting for the food, this is what we do. Taking stupid
shots. Haha. Did i mention that i had my best mafia game
that night too??? Really salute them.

26th Dec. The day most of us are waiting
for. BOXING DAY!!!! Look what our little
tour guide did for us. But it did helped alot.
Especially when there's too many same shops
nearby to each other on the same street. LOL!!!

Look at the crowd outside the shops even before it was open.
Bad experience i had in Selfridges. And i swear i will never go
back there ever again on Boxing day. Those people were practically
crazyyyy. I didn't mean to enter but was pushed into the queue by
the crowd on the other side of the road. And ended up, being lifted
into the store. But at least i still get something from there =p

After causing a massive hole to my purse, we settled down
in this awesome restaurant for Korean food. Everything tasted
so good. Now i start wondering, if the food was really good or
it's because i was busy battling the whole day and didn't had anything
down my stomach except a cup of Starbucks toffee nut latte. Hmm......
After food, Karaoke was our next destination!!! I still miss KL's Neway
and Redbox though.

And for Stacia's birthday celebration!!!!

Our tradition again!!! Like for the past 2 years,
we always have our Xmas present exchange
session before the clock strikes 12. But this time
a bit late =p

Next morning in Harrods. Everything that looks
pretty comes with a price.

Our final lunch together @ Hare and Tortoise. The curry laksa
here tasted like heaven!!! Personally think it was better than
those i had in Msia. Miss it so muchhhh although i just had it
again few days ago =D

King's Cross station again. Back to Notts after a splendid 4
days 3 nights. Everything was the same back here except
with a huge hole in the wallet. Nahhh, you don't wanna know
how much i spent in just that few hours =p

Ya, so that's about it. My first Xmas in the country of the Whites. Definitely a memorable one.
And for now, back to my coursework ='( Critical Appraisal. Am i studying pharmacy or what??? !@^@^%$#@^%$

Of Four Minds

What should I do for the summer if I don get a placement here??? 4 months is definitely a long time. One third of a year. Wow. At first I was given only two options. Either to go back or stay put. But now, more options are available and I'm so indecisive.

#1 Stay put here and not go back for the entire summer. Either travel around or get a part-time job here just to kill time.

#2 Travel around Europe and fly back to Malaysia for the last 2 months. For the sake of Malaysian food.

#3 Fly back to Msia first then travel around asia. Have a few places in mind now. Shenzhen, Guangzhou, HongKong and Macau. I'm such a fan of HK and Macau. And it's again for the sake of the food.

#4 Travel to US instead of flying back to Msia since air tix to US from UK is rather cheap. But my visa just expired this year!!! CRAP.

I just wished my parents could decide for me. Then i wouldn't need to do this head-cracking decision. Oh my...... It's causing me a headache again =(

When everyone's thinking of fleeing to warmer countries such as Portugal and Spain, I'm right here at this beyond subzero temperature Stockholm.

by the hostel upon our arrival. Super super nice!!!!
Hence, all of us got ourselves a box of it as souvenirs.
We were too hungry and practically, not practically,
finished the entire basket. And it was not seen again
for the next few days. Guess the receptionist was so
afraid that we would finish their supply.

Dinner time!!! Swedish food are yummylicious but at the
same time so pricey. You will at least need to spend a
minimum of 12gbp for each meal. So don't go to restaurants
if you have a tight budget. Swedish meatballs are heaven =)

I'm finally here at the original IceBar in Stockholm.
Definitely a once in a lifetime experience although
the place was so much smaller than what i expected.

Another round of Christmas Market

The Musical Instrument Musuem. The place we had the
most fun at night. Just like those small little kids.

Went searching for this Swedish restaurant that
some guy recommended but failed. Simply too
cold to continue looking and in the end, we settled
with this. Some middle east food which tasted
delicious too.

food. Too small to even fill half of my
stomach. Hence, MAX burger time!!!!
Cheapest fast food you can get in
the entire city. Only 15 korna for one
burger. Definitely smaller than McD's
cheeseburger but the patty was
uncomparable. So tender yet so juicy.

Forgotten what's the name. Skyview if
i'm not mistaken. Went there at the wrong
time and it was closed. Tried our luck
again the next day and here we go!!!!

Dear Casey,

I'm writing this letter to you as the year is coming to an end and it's time to reminisce the past memories that you've created this year and come up with new resolutions that can make you a better and happier person.

Have you ever thought that you could be so independent and survive in a foreign country without your parents by your side? Or have you in the first place, ever imagine that you would have a chance to step your foot in the UK? Well, I'm sure you did. Cause you're right there now and doing great.

Education. It's been 2 years since you doubted your decision on taking up this course. It might still not be your favourite and what your heart truly wants but see, you've being doing well throughout the past 2 years and u're already in third year now. Just another one more year to go till your uni life comes to an end. Unless you wanna continue doing your PhD. So just go out there and enjoy the time being with your uni mates before you start working and never have time to travel with them again.

Family. You should be grateful you have such caring parents. A loving dad and mum. That never stop loving you no matter how many times you hurt their hearts by doing silly stuff. A naughty sis as well. That you always complain about but still love her cause she's your one and only sister in this world. Your doggie, Nong Nong is still acting like 1 year old although he's already 10. You should know, sometimes mum nags for a reason. If it weren't because of her nagging, you wouldn't be there in UK using money like using water. And at the same time, still not causing burden to your parents. The best thing is buying presents for your family without using their money. But still, please control yourself.

Friends. To you, friends are priceless and more important than anything else. Keep up with this thought and never lose faith. Appreciate friends that are there for you all the time. To share your happiness and sorrows. There are times that you will meet friends that hurt you, but do not let if affect you. Stay strong and believe in yourself.

Relationship.Initially you thought it would be fine to be on a long-distance relationship, but as time pass, you began to doubt your thoughts and it was never the same anymore. There's no turning back to the words that hurts and I know you won't forgive yourself for the mistakes you've done. Give a deep thought of what you really want and stop causing pain to the other party. Think of what he'd done for you and those that you went through together. It might be worth the wait.

Life. Life can be full of obstacles and things might not always turn out the way you want them to be. With the perseverance you have, i'm sure you will be able to go through it and do the best out of it. Stop saying you're the suey-est person on earth cause there are other people out there who does not have the blessings you're getting. Stop worrying about the future, about things that are not meant to be known. The time will come and you'll eventually experience it. For the time being, stop being emotional and live a happy life. Be a cheerful girl like you used to be.

Snowy York

York, a walled city located in North Yorkshire, England. It was first day of snow and everyone got really excited. Soft white snow under my feet. Not that i haven't seen any of it before, but somehow it's a different feeling. Its amazing =)

While waiting for the bus in East Drive. Smtg
hilarious happened. ChenTing tried to trick me
by throwing his glove on my back. And i thought
it was the snow =.= Ended up, someone (couldnt recall
precisely who was it) helped me took revenge by stuffing
his glove with snow. There goes his pair of chilly
cold gloves. Play la play la.... play more =p

National Railway Museum. We were so unlucky to be
there at the wrong time. The Hogwarts train wasn't
there as it was removed for filming purposes =(

All restaurants were either full booked or full house
because of some event going on in the city and look
at the queue for the ever famous Yorkshire Pudding.

So, we gave our stomach to York's famous Cornish Pie

and i forgot to bring my beanie along =( Luckily
the guys have hoodies and borrowed me his beanie.
If not my hair would have been super wet =s

Winter's arriving early this year. So much sooner than we thought. It's not even december yet and snowman is here. What is wrong with the weather???

I know i have been babbling about how much i love the snow. But now, i seriously dislike it. You know why??? Look at the picture below.

It causes my fingers and toes to be swollen. Well, fingers swollen still acceptable. But my toes, it starts turning purple =.= And after what GG told me, i'm really scared max. I might end up in A&E one night due to anaphylactic shock. A bit too extreme i guess. CHOI CHOI CHOI!!!!

Down On Luck

I swear i'm the suey-est person on earth!!!! I nearly burnt down my room or rather my entire house if KYee wasn't kepoh enough. Almost had two corpse in House 72.

Came back from placement yesterday and happily went to shower. Out of a sudden, KYee came out and started asking if i smell any burnt plastic. Of course not. I could only smell my shower gel =.= Then luckily she was kepoh enough and told me she's gonna check on my room. The next word i heard from her, was FIRE. What??? I didn't even have time to wear my clothes and came running out of the bathroom. Wrapped in my towel *luckily shi hao wasn't in* The first thing i saw was orange flame. And what came next wasn't how to put off the fire. It was my laptop. Right on top of the fire. Quickly unplugged it and i just stood there didn't know what to do next.

KYee ran out of the house to get help and we were really lucky. A friend, TC was just walking pass and came to the rescue. Grabbed the fire extinguisher and saved the day. Both of us were in shock and couldn't even remember that we have a fire extinguisher hanging on the wall. Stupid switch. Imagine if this happen when I'm sleeping like a pig at night. Really GG.com.

But the day got better with Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows =) Two things that i do not like about UK cinemas; free seating and their super long lame advertisements. We had to enter super early just to get good seats and sat there for almost an hour before the movie starts due to 30 minutes of the adver =.= The movie was rather so-so. No climax at all except the part where i got shocked by the idiot snake. Bet it's all in Part 2. So will be anticipating it. Till we meet again in summer, Harry Potter =)

Told you guys i'm super suey this year and no one believed me. Now u know.

Birthday Daytrip to Lincoln

13th Nov. For a day trip. To celebrate our dear blur egg's 21st Birthday. Such a coincidence, this place shall be eggy's placement area during the summer =D

Lincoln, a cathedral city located in Lincolnshire, England. And i call it the Land of Truffles and Candies. You'll know why later (^.^)

Notts Malaysian Games

NMG. The biggest event of the year for NMS. An event where most of Malaysians in UK will make their way up or down to Notts. When we get to volunteer and duty together. When we get to meet long-time-no-see friends. When friends stay over. When we get to bring friends around. And when we feel as if we're back in M'sia again =)

Models of the booth. Yeahhh, I didn't ended
up in the child care room. Placed at the Msia
Kitchen booth, giving out brochures and discount
cards. Repeated the same old sentence for almost
a hundred times.

Orang besar from M'sia. Forgotten who was he, smtg to
do with the embassy i think. Anyway, we took a pic with him
cause they told us to. And the person in-charge of the booth kept
taking pics and video of both of us. Even interviewed Egg and Lamo.
It might appear on TV3, so tune in to that channel when it's berita time.

Met many friends. Eping, Edwin, Steph, Atiqah etc
But didn't have enough time to talk to them cause
of duty. Might consider not to volunteer anymore
next year. Hmm, but its fun wor. Zzzz.

Lunch buffet at Peachykeens the next day. 6.50 gbp for this,
TOTALLY WORTH it. My tummy nearly exploded. Hence,
the diet plan this week =x

My favourite section. Desserts ^^ I miss the cakes now =(

The food. So much better than May Sum. At least i wont
constantly feel dehydrated after food ;)

I totally disagree with this statement.

Stayed in the bathroom for more than half an hour everyday, off the shower reluctantly.

Using hair dryer on my body and not on my hair.

Can't even hold my toothbrush properly when i'm brushing my teeth.

Dipped my fingers into hot freshly boiled water and i cant feel it's hot at all *dead thermoreceptors*

To the fingers that are typing in front of me now, are you mine???

Weather here is AWFUL.

Period.

When all is said, the weather and love are the two elements about which one can never be sure.

Before I start, I would really like to take back what i said in my previous post. Sorry to make you guys worry. It was very incongruous and i seriously DO NOT hate Halloween. Simple reason; cause it's my birthday. Who hates their own birthday?? *bluek*

It's my first 25 hours birthday and in UK!!!! For those who are blur why is there 25 hours, let me clear your doubts. It was simply because of the daylight saving time whereby the time difference between UK and M'sia changed from 7 hours to 8 hours. O.o But but but................ I'm so not ready yet to step into the 2-Oh club *sobs sobs* Birthday without my parents. Only with my besties in UK. Sad but at the same time, excited MAX!!! But daddy mummy still didn't forget my present. Wee, new camera!!! Thank you so much for those who called, texted, sent cards or FB to wish me on my very special day. Abundance of appreciation =)

20th Birthday this year was utterly a good one. They said i'm like 'Agung'. Celebrated for 3 days. Hahahhaha. Curious why??? Let the story begins.......

I just finished my liposome report and had nothing to do before i start PPSing. Life is so boring here when the sun goes down into the horizon. So i'm here, at my blog, babbling bout 10 random stuffs which happened last week.

1. Went for NMS meeting and was given a totally different duty from the one i chose for the Nott's M'sia Games next weekend. I opt for Food Festival and guess what they gave me??? Uni promotion and Child care =.='''

2. My first attempt making Cola Chicken. It's finger licking good!!!!

3. Had my first Pan Mee in the cold. Made out of wheat and gluten free flour. The most expensive flour I've ever had.

4. Fell down from the bed in the middle of the night *oops, and FYI, I'm sleeping on a double bed*

5. Had 2 consecutive terrible days. Maybe i appeared okay, but actually i'm not.

6. Mummy finally said YES despite daddy said yes a long long time ago. I'm getting a new camera!!!! Now which to choose??? Hmm..... Canon S95 or Lumix LX5??? Any suggestions???

7. Had my first buffet lunch in UK. Chinese food. Too much MSG. And i was constantly feeling thirsty throughout the rest of the day.

8. Shop till you drop!!! Bought 2 coats in a day. One of it made of wool and got it for 45 quids only!!! Original price was 99 quids. Plus the design was nice. Happy girl i am now =))) One more bag and i'm done for this month. No more shopping till Xmas. I PROMISE. Unless..... there's SALES again =p

9. Bought a baby blue bathrobe which keeps me super warm. Lurve it. Should have got it earlier, thinking of the nights when i was shivering away. But, it's not too late yet. So for those who haven't got any, go grab one before you freeze.

10. Lastly, I PASSED my Molecular Therapeutics exam!!!!

Gotta start PPSing now. I'm finally done with Grey's Anatomy Season 3 but have 4 more seasons to go. Why did i even started it??? Should have just stick to GG and Vampires. Meanwhile, Every Move You Make is nice ^^

Getting Around UK

From my title above, this post will obviously be about.............. TRAVEL. Around United Kingdom. Well, i'm already here for about one month plus and indubitably, travel is a must-to-do. Gotta grab all the opportunities i have to travel around this sem before it gets real hectic next sem. Two papers only this sem!!! So why waste it???

Manchester

This trip was super last minute due to some confusions. My main purpose of getting there was to visit Ting Ting, my lovely cousin who's been there for 5 years and seldom goes back to M'sia. But after i bought my train tickets, she told me that she was going Plymouth for the weekend. Swt maxxx. So i only met her once and needa stay over in a hotel since she's not around. Nevertheless, i met up with Jian who left Preston for the weekend in the city and Jason who came all the way from Liverpool =)

The best dinner i've had since i was here. Chinese
food!!!! Chia by Ting Ting. I guess i would restrict
my feet from entering this restaurant if i were to
glance thru the menu first before i enter.
Still working hard towards the art-of-not converting
especially when it comes to food.

I've been nomming on food non stop since the first day i came. Not to say that those food that i've been taking all along was fattening but it still counts into the calorie intake. I have to be extremely careful with my diet such that i do not consume more than what my body requires. At the same time, i still can't resist the temptation of eating my biscuits and 'percy piglets' due to the ridiculous cold weather.

The consequence that i have to bear now is the feeling of being a girl with LAYERS of adipose tissue and a ROUNDED face.

I'm mentally abusing myself. I need more of Nutrition lectures now.

And about the break down earlier was TOTALLY ABSURD!!!!!!

Wokay, i know this post may be a little too late. Hmmm, but still decided to squeeze it here. It was our first trip together. To the singa-land. A trip before i left for UK. 6 days 5 nights. Gosh, imagine how long did i spend persuading my parents to let me go on this trip. Once they agreed, maximum length of stay of course. Reason behind this? Cause we only get to meet once in 6 months. Dumb dumb LDR =.= Never knew Spore can be this fun. I always knew these places exist but haven't had the chance to visit. Although i do enter Spore almost twice or thrice a year. Put the blame on Orchard Road. Yea, i'm a shopping addict. But one who knows how to control =)

Day 1

Had Pasta De Gohan for lunch in Novena Square. Checked-in to our hotel and met up with Jack which recommended us a few places around. Chinatown and Little India next. Had my favourite oyster omelette and some Chinese food. That's what you'll expect from Chinatown. No pictures for the day cause you know why? The pictures are still in his camera. Perhaps i'll only get those pics when i'm 50. *Speechless*

Cold Weather, Cold Food

Week 2 just ended and I'm still depress over the same issue since last week. No hot food. Brought omelette and brocolli on the first day of class. Was anticipating lunch so that i could eat my own home-cooked food. First bite......... yuckssss to the very max. Clarification for the readers. It wasn't the taste. I never doubt my skills, ask my housemates =) But it's something worse than that i would say. It was icy cold. Normally at home, i would never touch cold food which was meant to be hot. But here, i gotta force myself to finish it. This really makes me feel like crying. ='(

Now blame the weather. Weather here is confusing. Sunny but strong wind. Sunny but drizzling. Even crappy, sun-less. Every morning, i had to open the curtains and look out to check if it's windy. If yes, means thicker coat and no shorts for the day. But sometimes, it can be really deceiving. The weather might look good in the morning but turns crappy the rest of the day. Just like today. Rained the entire afternoon and it's still raining now.

Bout the uni, its BIG. Capital letters B-I-G. Thought it would be cool to have such big uni huh. Now that I've experienced it, I totally dislike dislike dislike. I wish it could be just as big as UNMC. Most of my classes are in QMC and Pope Building. Occasionally, the chemistry building. We had to switch classes every single period and imagine we only have 5 minutes to run from one place to another. Mind you, the distance is not near.

Apart from this, everything seems good. For the time being. Loving my ballet, contemporary dance and pilates class. So to cut it short, I still enjoy being here although there's so much complains piled up.

People always say, you will only miss something when it's not there anymore or when it's way too hard to get it. So trueeee. This is how much i miss the typical Malaysian food, Nasi Lemak. Miss the rice, miss the rendang, miss the fried anchovies, miss the spicy sambal and the smell of coconut milk. How can Malaysians not miss this???

Thanks to NMS for providing us with free Nasi Lemak. Such heavenly food. So sick of potatoes, spaghetti and fries.

Mid Autumn Festival 2010

Busy buzy week this week. Fresher's Fair on the go and freebies is everywhere =p Finally its over and i can start cleaning up my room. So much of unnecessary stuff. Told them i had it already, and what they reply you is forever the same sentence; it's free it's free, just take. SWT. Now i have tonnes of domino's free personal voucher. Anyone interested, come look for me.

It was just like yesterday when we had out first mid autumn festival celebration together in Kuantan. With those small little mooncakes. Another year flew pass and we're still together celebrating this special day. Except we're now in this place which has no mooncake anymore. It was seriously a bit cram where 11 of us (Randalamos+Stacia+Yinjen+Jhen) had to squeeze in that confined dining area and not to forget, that Jacky had to practice the yoga chair pose while having her dinner due to limited chairs. Haha.

The 'cramness' increased to maximum when a group of engineering seniors crashed our house with mooncakes in their hands. Our life saver, killer to our cravings. Eventually, we had to move over to their house for the drinking and games session. More mooncakes too. =p I won't mention more about the dare game we played cause the one i got dared was darn disgusting. But i cheated and they din realize. Shhhhhh.......Thanks to my long hair =)

From just Bacardi, it ended up with Baileys, Tequila, Smirnoff,
Bacardi and Cointreau. Baileys, Smirnoff and Bacardi was the best.
Tequila might be good if we had lemon. Yucks to Cointreau. The
green bottle at the end, was kept away from us cause it contains
64% alcohol and we had class the next day. A question by Kai Yee
which I find it really relevant and funny at the same time. "Can this
be used as disinfectant?"

Had a great weekend with free accommodation on campus and free food due to the welcome program catered for us, the international students =) So embarrassed when i reach the bus stop. Everyone carries a backpack and me, a luggage as if i'm going to Manchester. Why am i always doing stupid stuff like this??? Zzzz. Ended up we only stayed over for the second night and walked all the way again from home to Rutland hall for breakfast. Crazy far especially with that bag of mine which has my laptop that i used for only 20 minutes that night in it. I will never never do this again just for that free breakfast =s

is just so pretty that i desperately need a new camera. Just simply
snap and the pic still captures your heart. Mummy, if u happen to

Just yesterday,on the Monday, we went to Hooters for all-you-can-eat chicken wings. Guys are there for something else i suppose. I think i ate almost 20 chicken wings cause not finishing, is definitely a sin. That sounds a bit insane but ermmmm. Hehe. That's why we had Grolsch and a bottle of corona later to cool the heatyness. It was great to know that i didn't dream of chicken wings last night. Instead, i miss the chicken wings now~~~~~

My Little New Crib

Here's my new crib for the coming one year. House 72. Montpelier Road. An ordinary double story terrace, with 3 rooms and a kitchen.

My cozy room with a shelf full of my face and hair products.
Bottom lever for ma books which is still on their way here
from Malaysia. Probably in the middle of the sea now ~.~

My big wardrobe. Poor girl has to do her own laundry now.
And dry the clothes in my own room due to the crazy weather
outside. Its good in a way that the heater would suck water from
those wet clothes rather from my soft smooth skin =p

Yup, its my study table there and kinda still in the mess when
i took this pic. Blame the shopping. =p But it's tidy now.

But I'll rather garden in my own room than to freeze myself outside.

Random but i like. My new house slippers which is so warm and
comfy <3 <3

The house is not complete without filling in the fridge and kitchen cupboards. Hence, Sainsbury and Argos is the right place to go.

£60 worth of groceries. Cheap??? Learn the art of not
converting and u'll enjoy shopping for groceries like me.
*not just for groceries of coz =p*

Wonder how we carry those stuffs back? Lucky us to have free
car ride that day =)

A Whole New Environment

Boots placement just ended last week. Which was good cause i wouldn't needa travel so far anymore. One hour bus ride to Eastwood and plus the tickets are in POUNDS now. Heartache. Let me show you how much was my tickets for the entire 5 days placement.

First day was £9 then second and third day, improved a little. £8. Fourth and fifth day, meet two different nice bus drivers. £5.40. Actually kangaroo cant be used on Rainbow 1 but he still let me go. Weeee, £2.60 saved for Fish and Chips. =) Not just these bus drivers, other bus drivers are really nice too. Ask them for A, they will tell u from A to Z.

Luckily Boots do pay us for this placement. Which was rather high compared to M'sia where they don't even pay you. £6.14 an hour. We work 7 hours a day excluding lunch. Phewww, if not i would have vomit blood everyday looking at my bus fares.

So enough babbling on the bus fare. Now how was the placement?? Was good. Learn quite a bit about the dispensing system here. Totally different from the community pharmacy in M'sia. Met really nice people there. Both the pharmacists and the patients. Really patient patients i would say.

£50 is like super big to them. When i handed 50 to them, they
looked at me like so weirdo and ask whether i have smaller change.
If i have, i wouldn't have to buy a bottle of orange juice just to get
some small change in order to buy a burger for lunch. Then they
started calling for manager to check if the money was fake. Not just
this place,it applies to everywhere =.=

now. Another 2 years to go ='(

On The Other Side of the World

Hey peeps, the author of this blog is back!!!!! Everything's the same, just that the author is now 6500 miles away from home =( Know you guys wanna know bout the updates. So here i go blurting it out.

On the 29th august, i flew all the way from KLIA to this new place which is on the other side of the world. My flight was at 11.40pm and they wanted us to be there at 8pm. For another short briefing. Zzzzz. Something i've expected early since the day i started packing. JPA allowed 20kg only and people like me, how to keep to that weight limit. I only brought 10% of my cupboard and it's still overweight,33.4kg. So i had to remove 3 kg of my clothes and get it here instead >.< I'm glad i didn't flood the airport wahahhaa. Didn't had my dinner and ended up spending RM16 for a small little mini plate of char kuey teow.

Stuck in MAS for 13 hours and landed in Heathrow Airport. Went through all the custom checks and truly, it was quite strict. Then something happened when i issued my British Airway ticket to Manchester. The lady realized i checked in 2 luggages in KLIA and told me BA only allow maximum of 1 check in luggage. What can i do? It's already inside somewhere. At first she asked me to pay 30 pounds for that extra bag. I hesitated but then no choice la. When i was about to pay, she told me she will charge me the next time but not today. 30 pounds saved ^^

After the tickets were issued, we then realized we were entitled to enter the Business Lounge. Wooohooo. So much food and drinks for free. They even have a shower room for us to clean up ourselves. Awwww, how lucky we were =)

5.13am. Shock to see me up this early? Haha. I'm shock myself too. Now waiting for my daddy to get up from his big comfy bed and bring me to Uptown for Nasi Lemak.

Sitting in my living room, looking around reminds how comfortable am I being a princess here. Another few more days, i'll be all on my own. Making my own bed, washing my own clothes,vacuuming my own room and worst of all, cooking my own meal!!! T.T

Another 30 minutes to go. Normally, 2 alarm clock will be a minimum to get me out of bed. But recently, everything just went the wrong way. Having insomnia and waking up supa early in the morning.

What is wrong with me? Am i having jet lag this early?

A Week More to Go =(

I'll be on board exactly this hour next Sunday flying to a complete stranger country. I've been keeping track on how many days I've left here in Malaysia. Not for the purpose of counting down to the day i'll be leaving but to count the leftover days I have with my family and friends. Since two years ago, i had always been wondering when will this time ever arrive and now that it's finally here, i'm reluctant to leave. I miss home. Aren't we all the same???

Another 5 days, you 3 will be flying off and leaving me behind. One thing for sure, missing you 3 cause there's no other one that can replace the 3 of you. Everyone will be at the airport with their parents except for me =( Being optimistic, perhaps it's not that bad. Then i wouldn't need someone there to carry a box of tissue for me =p
