BTN Camp

Just last thursday, we received a notice that the 13 of us had to go for this BTN camp on the 21st June. I seriously thought it was just a one day seminar until Kai Yee told me we had to stay there for 5 days 4 nights. Swt........It was totally last minute and all my plans for that week had to be canceled. I guess that applies to all of us duhhh. Evonne and Su Lan had to end their backpacking immediately and fly back all the way from Vietnam just for this. So what comes to your mind when i mention about this camp???

For those who have not heard of BTN, it's actually an abbreviation for Biro Tatanegara. All government scholarship holders have to attend and pass the exam before flying off to their respective country to persuade which ever course they are doing or about to do. All students in this camp are under JPA, MARA and Petronas scholarship. Our camp was situated in Meru, Klang and thank god, we didn't get places like Kelantan or Terengganu. I cant stand sitting on the bus for that long hours again despite i'm going to do so again next week =.= But finding the place was definitely a challenge based on the map they gave us. Luckily the registration time was from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. We spent almost 1.5 hours searching for that camp site in Klang itself >.<

This camp is the total opposite of those camps I've been to last time. Some trainers were ex-soldiers and you know what they want from us. DISCIPLINE. We were forced to speak only in BM, not even English. My rusted BM have improved alot now. Had 4 talks about Malaysia in total throughout 2 days. Every talk is 2 hours and imagine we had 3 talks in one day. Butt cramp. We had less than 6 hours of sleep every day. After talks, we were sorted into groups and the talk goes on and on by the facilitators. My faci, Pak Mat was very helpful and fun to joke with =) FEDERAL CONSTITUTION and ONE MALAYSIA. That's what we had to or forced to learn =( All activities end at 12am every night and we gotta wake up at 6am for moral studies. Most of us usually wake up before that because of the loud siren to wake the Malays up for their prayer. Then, we had 'kawad' and morning exercises before breakfast. No comment on the food la. Can't expect so much from camps like these wert. But the drinks they provide can seriously cause diabetic and i really cant take it, not even a sip. Plain water tasted so good throughout that 5 days.

Did u know that we have to pass a physiological test as well??? I scored 60/80 only. I lost 10 points for not able to hold my breath for more than 1 minute. And another 10 points for super fast pulse rate within one minute. I really salute those who can to this after all the vigorous activities we did earlier. In the evening, we had jungle trekking. My favourite Flying Fox was canceled due to the rain. Stupid rain cannot come another day one izit. Must purposely choose the day that they arranged for us to go up for it.

On the last night, we had performance by each group singing our group song. Mine was Keranamu Malaysia. Piece of cake. I meant memorizing the lyrics. Hehe. The saddest thing came later. They showed us this video which really touches my heart. And, i cried. ZOMG. Not only me la of coz. All lights were off that time but i think the 2 girls beside me must be thinking why am i so emotional. Poor thing le i see those kids dying in the war. Moreover, it's accompanied by those emo songs. Make me teared faster T.T

On the last day, we had our final exam. 60 MCQ in 1.5hours. No studying is needed. Either history or common sense questions only. Not forgetting, it's my first time fishing during exam. Only had 4 hours of sleep the night before ~.~ I cant even finish reading all the answers and had to keep slapping myself to wake up. Total torture!!!!!

*Pictures time. No cameras and phones were allowed during the activities. Hence, we only manage to snap a few before all of us flee home*

My groupmates. Yuan Renn, Fiqri, Vi Kie, Moi and Siew Li
(Missing: Azizan, Khalida, Juliza and Skalo)

Some of my dorm mates

But i'm glad i made it through and pray hard i pass. I don wanna go and repeat the same thing again. Fingers crossed X.X Love the new friends that I've made. The best part of camps =)

Yehhhh, yum cha session and movie again later =D
